Doing Missions

Missions

In a land low on resources maintenance is one of the first things to get cut from the budget. That means when doors break, light bulbs burn out, and toilets back up there’s no plan to fix it. Missions can be a blessing in this area.

Here in Nicaragua we understand deep levels of poverty and a community low on resources. The closest school to the Enrichment Center is nearly brand new, but you wouldn’t know it to look at it. We recently had an opportunity to share talents and bless the local school with repairs to their doors and gates, light bulbs and toilets. From welding to plumbing, our friends from NICNY New York were happy to lend their expertise and purchase much needed supplies.

Missions is a brand term, and it captures many different kinds of hearts. Here at Enrich Missions we equate missions with serving. We want to create a space where you can serve as you feel called while still being a blessing to the community.

We do this by offering a service that comes alongside the community, rather than standing over the community. We’ve found over the years that serving people where they’re at and how they need is the number one way of sharing the love of God. When we love people where they are, we love people as Christ loved them.

Being a missionary or going on a mission trip is a verb. It requires action. It starts with movement. When you move, you can move others. Sometimes in another country, and sometimes right where you are. Organizing mission trips, serving people where they are, and loving unconditionally are all part of our Christian faith.

Want to come and serve? We have a few ways you can. Let’s start by sending us a message here.
